Project Updates August 2018

A quiet month but a good one in terms of progress :)

Marketing Not too much done on the marketing side this month. I signed up to do a blog event where authors and bloggers posted something for you to read every day in August and that was fun. It gave me the push to polish up a story I've been wanting to put together for a while and also gave me something to publish on Tapas which I've been wanting to do for a long while.

Moon Girl 3: Guillotine Stage: Final Draft The stage has changed! I've had edits back from two beta readers now and will be going through it once more myself. I've spoken to Mewa and she's on track with the art so I can pretty confidently say as long as there are no unforeseen circumstances that Moon Girl 3 should be released late October/early November. I will be releasing the first chapter on my website to read for free before then though. Sign up to my newsletter to be the first to hear about it! (The little box on the right! Go! You get 10% off my online store too!)

Moon Girl 4 Stage: First Draft Moon 4 is hard right now. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel but that last stretch is like a vertical hike compared to the rest of the story. I've hit my target this month despite that and hoping with how much I think I have left that as long as I can stick to my target next month then I should have the first draft of Moon 4 finished next month. I'm excited to get to the end but it's always a little scary getting to the end of what has now been a 13-month draft

Other stories

This month I launched a new monthly feature for the blog. A story in six parts released on the second to last Tuesday of every month, Magic and machines is the story I wrote a long time ago and will be polishing up piece by piece. You can read part one for free on this Blog or on the Tapas App. E-mail subscribers will always be first to be notified and Parts will appear on Tapas a few days after they appear on the blog. Here's a what you can expect:

Industrial revolution sweeps the world but magic refuses to leave, plaguing the kingdom with old forgotten horrors.

Fire mage, Balaz Fai, has stolen a magic stone from the king's vault. Knights, Ethel Argi and Ash Prohito, are sent to retrieve it before he can take vengeance against the crown for the treatment of those who can use magic.

Or at least, that was the plan.

I've got a lot of prep to do next month. I'm hoping to get most of my publishing prep done in September because in October I've signed up for a fiction writing masterclass which should be fun. The goal at the end is to have written three short stories so I should have more to show you, hopefully. Sadly though it's going to impact on what time and energy I have left to publish (and I am a low energy person to begin with...) so *fingers crossed* I can get the majority out the way before it starts.

Ah yeah, I'm also at Chester Comic Con again next month! Look forward to it! I'll be there armed with books, bookmarks, necklaces and art prints. If there are any art prints you would particularly like to see please comment or message me because I won't have as much as a selection this time. If you would like to come and see me and get a signed copy of Moon Girl you can get your tickets here.
